The three-day tournament will be televised on Golf Channel in prime time––a first for a junior golfing competition––airing over two hours of broadcast time.
The Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship is open to boys and girls competing in one of the four age categories: Boys 14-18, Girls 14-18, Boys 13 & Under, and Girls 13 & Under. In total, over 2600 junior golfers are competing for their chance to play in November.
Coushatta Casino Resort General Manager Scott Sirois stated, “We are absolutely thrilled to host this competition! It is indeed an honor and a privilege to partner with Notah Begay III for this much-anticipated event at our award-winning golf course, Koasati Pines at Coushatta. It is a proud day for our Native American culture that Coushatta Casino Resort, a tribal-owned property, is partnering with the first Native American member of the PGA to showcase this country’s top junior golfers in a nationally televised tournament competition.”
The three-day event will be held at Koasati Pines at Coushatta, recognized by GolfAdvisor as the #1 Golf Course in Louisiana and named on its Top 50 Golfer’s Choice List. This stunning course features multiple approaches on three holes, six sets of tees to engage golfers at all skill levels, pristine greens and beautiful fairways––and it’s all wrapped up in a stunning 18-hole par 72 championship layout on the 7,617 yard course. Course designer Kevin Tucker challenged golfers with multiple approaches to several holes, but GPS enabled carts track yardage and offer course tips to help plan each shot.
