27th Annual Powwow
June 7-8, 2024
The Coushatta Powwow is one of the largest in North America, and is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.
Be sure to witness a Grand Entry, a rhythmic march that opens the competitions, when all of the dancers in full regalia claim the Dancing Ground to the accompaniment of tribal drums and singers.
This family-friendly event offers a look at the fascinating culture and heritage of Native Americans.

Rumble on the Rez
December 15, 2023
On December 15, 2023 the Alabama Coushatta Tribe of Texas and the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana met in Elton, LA for the inaugural ‘Rumble on the Rez’ basketball game. The Big Sandy and Elton High School varsity girls basketball game was an important cultural moment that brought the two Tribes together for the first time in many years.
